Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Montes-Nexus LLC ("Stirden," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use the Stirden mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Who we are
Stirden is operated by Montes-Nexus LLC, a limited liability company. We provide a personal accountability and mentorship application that helps men build standards, track daily actions, and stay connected with accountability partners.
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, contact us at hello@stirden.com.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide directly
- Account information: your name (or chosen display name), email address, and authentication identifiers from Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In.
- Phone number: if you opt in to SMS-based accountability features (see Section 5), we collect your mobile phone number.
- Profile and goal information: the standards, daily actions, dimensions, missions, and vision statements you create inside the app.
- Messages: the text and voice messages you exchange with the Stirden mentor and with your accountability partners through the app.
- Photos and attachments: photos you upload to provide proof of completing your commitments, including any metadata embedded in those photos (such as timestamps, used to verify a photo was taken close to when it was submitted).
Information collected automatically
- Device information: device type, operating system version, app version, language, and timezone.
- Usage data: features you interact with, screens you view, and aggregate behavioral patterns collected by our analytics provider (see Section 6).
- Push notification tokens: tokens issued by Apple Push Notification service to deliver in-app notifications to your device.
Voice features
- Voice transcription (xAI / Grok): when you speak to your mentor with voice mode enabled, your microphone audio is sent to xAI for transcription. Stirden does not store voice audio on its own servers. See Section 6 for xAI's role as a processor.
- Voice tone analysis (Anthropic): when you enable "Voice tone analysis" in Settings, short clips of your voice (up to 30 seconds per turn) are sent to Anthropic for tone-of-voice analysis. The analysis lets the mentor calibrate how it responds. By default the audio is analyzed and discarded — we do not retain the audio. If you opt in to the optional "Help improve mentor responses" setting, the clip is retained for up to 30 days for product improvement, then automatically deleted.
Apple Health
- If you connect Apple Health, we read only the specific data types you authorize (such as step count, mindful minutes, or workout sessions) and use them to verify completion of relevant standards and actions. We do not write data back to Apple Health. You can revoke Apple Health permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
3. How we use your information
We use the information described above to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
- Personalize your experience — for example, by calibrating the mentor's responses to your goals, history, and stated preferences.
- Send you in-app notifications, push notifications, and (if you opt in) SMS messages relevant to your commitments and accountability partners.
- Verify proof submissions — for example, by checking that an uploaded photo matches the stated commitment and was taken recently.
- Communicate with you about your account, security, and product updates.
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
5. SMS communications
By providing your mobile phone number to Stirden, you agree to receive recurring transactional and accountability SMS messages from Stirden related to the commitments you have set up inside the app.
- What you'll receive: mentor check-in prompts at the times you have configured for your standards (for example, a 5:42 AM reminder for a morning scripture standard), partner accountability pings, and verification confirmations. Messages are transactional in nature — we do not send marketing or promotional SMS.
- How you opt in: by entering your phone number during signup (at stirden.com or in the in-app onboarding flow) and accepting the SMS-disclosure language displayed at the point of entry.
- Frequency: varies based on the standards and actions you configure. Typical users receive 0–5 messages per day.
- Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier's standard rates for sending and receiving text messages apply to all SMS you exchange with Stirden.
- Opt out: reply STOP to any Stirden SMS to immediately and permanently opt out of SMS communications. Opting out of SMS does not delete your Stirden account — you will continue to receive in-app notifications.
- Help: reply HELP to any Stirden SMS for assistance, or contact hello@stirden.com.
We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number with any third party for that third party's marketing purposes. Your phone number is processed only by our SMS service provider (Twilio, Inc. — see Section 6) for the sole purpose of delivering the SMS messages you have opted in to receive.

7. Information sharing beyond processors
We do not sell your personal information.
We may disclose your information in the following limited circumstances:
- With accountability partners you choose: when you share a standard or daily action with an accountability partner (a "Squad member"), that partner sees the relevant commitment and any photo proof you submit. You control which commitments are shared on a per-commitment basis.
- For legal reasons: if we believe disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation, valid legal process, or governmental request; to enforce our Terms of Service; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Stirden, our users, or others.
- In connection with a business transaction: if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any change in ownership or use of your information.
- With your consent: for any other purpose disclosed by us when you provide the information.
8. Data retention
- Account and profile data: retained for the lifetime of your account. When you delete your account, your account data is purged within 30 days, subject to limited exceptions (legal holds, backup-cycle expiration).
- Photo attachments: retained for 90 days after upload, then automatically deleted from Stirden storage.
- Voice audio (Voice tone analysis opt-in): retained for up to 30 days, then automatically deleted.
- Voice audio (default): not retained on Stirden infrastructure.

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including the right to know about personal information collected, used, disclosed, and sold; the right to delete; and the right to opt-out of sale or sharing (Stirden does not sell personal information). To exercise these rights, contact hello@stirden.com.
10. Children's privacy
Stirden is intended for adults. The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact hello@stirden.com and we will delete the information.
11. International users
Stirden is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States and other countries where our processors operate. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.
12. Security
We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, role-based access controls, and regular security review.
